cover choices by punchyninja cover choices by punchyninja
well I was suprised to see how many people liked the wip for the cover. I'm just trying to get something stubbed in so I can send a preview print to the printer.

I have plans to add a montage of action around the figure, but I think thats gonna have to wait.

I did one in color, and one in red. I kind of like them both....

which should I go with???

It's hard to tell from the shot but I think the red helps bring out more of the detail on the character with the blacks. But I like the color contrast between the figure and the title with the color version.

This is a tough one because they're both good and have merits to each but if you pointed a gun to my head and told me to choose right now I'd go with the red version.

more people tend to go for the red one, but not by a huge margin. doh!

I prefer the one on the left. Helps the title stand out better and the whole page isn't overwhelmingly red then!

I'd like to see what you have in mind with the background action (color, tone, etc) before determining which is the best color.

Right now, the red cover really pops from the white background but the scarf in the colored cover really stands out. I just leaned back from my monitor and that blue scarf just jumps at me.

the action will probably be pretty small, I don't imagine it will change the cover that much...butthen again....=)

I like the red, also, a 70s pulp posterized look would be good if you DO get round to an action montage.

I tried the posterization a couple times on it but couldn'tget it to look good. doh!

yeah it's a tricky one, also I just realised the text reads "...whole CLIPS worth"
I was trying to figure out what "...whole cups worth" was supposed to mean until now! A strange reference to her upper undergarments, perhaps?

hmmm i can't decide, i think it'd greatly depend on what you used to fill the rest of the empty space.

I'm not sure, probably a medium shot of the hero and the little girl, maybe a mug shot the villian and maybe a long shot of two people fighting....but I'm lazy, it might just be a close up side view of the hero's noggin

hmmm well if you made the people in the background monochrome, i'd make the main girl coloful.

The red one - going from the washed out, faded future feel from issue one, it seems to fit better.

I think the red will be more eye catching on a new comic stand. Red = stop and pick me up. The green of course looks more finished. So, I'd work more with the red. She just need more definition (or something?)

They are both awesome. But I think I'd go with the color version for a cover.

Maybe use the red for a variant cover for cons or something?

Red. It definitely pushes the whole Poster look you've got going on.

In fact, you might even change the border to red to really push the whole Duo-tone look.

Makes me think of a '60's spy paperback cover.
